It's Bjorking Bjorktastic!!!
OK, I know it's been a while, but I'm back from my self-imposed hiatus, ready to throw myself wholeheartedly back into blogging. My hiatus yielded mixed results, but it did give me time to decide on one thing: no more hiatuses (hiati?).
Aside from making that decision, another thing I did over my long break was watch some movies with Sy. We saw Horton Hears a Who (which was excellent), Kicking and Screaming (the poser preppie one, not the Will Ferrell disaster - although after five minutes, I wished I was watching the Will Ferrell disaster), and Dancer in the Dark, starring one Bjork Gudmundsdottir (I believe there aren't any others).
Sweet Googily Moogily, she did an amazing job in that movie. In the beginning of the movie, her acting seemed stilted and awkward and almost painful to watch, but as the film progressed (and as her character grew more anguished), she really started to shine. Generally I'm not a fan of musicals (aside from Nightmare Before Christmas), but this was intriguingly unlike any musical I've ever seen before.
Plus, she recently called out the Chinese over immoral and illegal occupation of Tibet, which is sexy. I can't wait to go to the Milk Bar toilets this summer!
